Every September brings the excitement of the newest trends in fashion and beauty during London Fashion Week. Beyond just previewing the fresh styles for Spring/Summer 2023, we had the privilege of contributing significantly this season by serving as the exclusive skincare partner for the London-based contemporary fashion label, RIXO.

RIXO is celebrated for its iconic vintage floral designs, and there were several compelling reasons why partnering with them felt like an ideal match. Much like our own story, the brand's founders, Henrietta and Orlagh, established a fully independent company rooted right here in London. Sustainability is deeply embedded in their philosophy, focusing more on the enduring wearability of their exquisite, elegant garments rather than solely on eco-friendly packaging or formulations in beauty products.

The SS23 collection from RIXO, themed 'Postcards From Goa,' overflowed with vibrant colors such as intense pinks, striking reds, and vivid turquoise shades. To match this lively palette on the runway, we employed our premier radiance-boosting skincare regimen, delivering models a luminous, camera-ready glow. Key products in the routine included powerhouse brighteners like the C-2 Believe Vitamin C brightening moisturiser and the Century Flower lotus and hyaluronic acid barrier defence mist.

To delve deeper into RIXO, its visionary founders, and the latest collection, we sat down with Henrietta and Orlagh for an intimate conversation. They shared insights into the show's inspiration and the reasons behind selecting Pai to ensure the models' skin radiated with perfection.

We are delighted to be your exclusive skincare partner for LFW! What made Pai a great fit for this show?

Henrietta: We at RIXO are huge admirers of Pai, making this partnership truly thrilling for us. We prioritize brands that share RIXO's values, particularly those that empower individuals through their offerings. Pai stands out because their products benefit both your skin and the environment, and collaborating with a responsible brand is a core priority for us.

Like Pai, you're a London-born brand. How important is your London heritage to you?

Henrietta: Our connection to London is profoundly significant. Orlagh and I launched RIXO from the living room of our student house in West London. This city is our home base, hosting numerous campaign photoshoots and special events over the years.

What do you think makes British brands so unique?

Henrietta: As the nation's capital, London serves as a vibrant epicenter for creative minds. Orlagh and I are constantly inspired by the diverse styles visible on its streets. It's truly remarkable to build a brand immersed in this dynamic creative environment.

You're also a fellow independent brand – how has having that full control impacted your business and the pieces you produce?

Henrietta: The impact has been enormous. Without any external investors, Orlagh and I retain total authority over RIXO's direction. This independence has allowed us to preserve the brand's original essence, maintaining the same core values and principles from our very first collection.

Tell us about your decision to go with vibrant, bright colours for this collection – what was the inspiration for your colour palette?

Orlagh: From the moment we experienced Goa, we were determined to capture its stunning beauty in the collection. The vivid hues of the Fontainhas district, known as Goa's Latin quarter, profoundly influenced the prints and overall color scheme for SS23.

Your SS23 collection featured plenty of nods to nature in its prints. What was the inspiration behind that?

Orlagh: We frequently experiment with hand-painted motifs, having drawn from underwater themes in previous seasons. In general, our inspirations come from a wide array of sources surrounding us, with nature playing a particularly prominent role.

What was the goal for the overall beauty look in your SS23 show?

Henrietta: Our aim was simplicity, highlighting the inherent beauty of the dancers and models in the SS23 presentation. We opted for a fresh, dewy, and natural skin finish, which Pai's products helped us nail effortlessly.
